This article will show you how to program a "Rest Day" so that athletes have the ability to add their own exercises to the session. This allows both you and your athlete to keep track of any bonus work.
Please note: If there is not a session or rest day scheduled, the athlete will not be able to add additional exercises data.
Programming a "Rest Day" is an opportunity to:
- Collect Readiness Surveys and Session Comments on days where athletes are training independently
- Help your athlete more clearly identify planned sessions vs. rest days
- Allow your athletes to "program" their own sessions
While we do have a "Rest Day" Exercise in the TrainHeroic Library, you can always create your own version of the "Rest Day" Exercise, if you'd like to include a custom video. Have fun with this!
Here's what that might look like for you, coach:
Note: You do NOT need to include a prescription. Leaving the prescription blank for an Exercise will simply just allow the athlete to mark the block as "Complete."
Here's what your athlete will see:
Your athlete will be able to add exercises to the end of their session using the "Exercise" button pictured above.
Pro Tip: Once you've created a "Rest Day" Session, we recommend saving the session to your Library, so that you can drop it on the calendar whenever your athletes have a "Rest Day."
Use your Coach Home activity feed to get the full rundown on your athlete's independent training session, and send them a message to praise their extra efforts!
