TH Chat: Message your Athletes

Communicate with your athletes in realtime, using our text-like messaging system, TH Chat.

Use TH Chat to message or "text" your athletes. With TH Chat, you'll have the option to direct message your athletes, keeping communication private, or post an announcement to a group of athletes.

This article will cover:

• Direct messaging
• Team messaging
• Program messaging
• Messaging features (emojis, GIFs, video, etc.)

Direct Messaging

You'll be able to Direct Message athletes who you're training 1:1.

Note: Athletes training exclusively on a Team will not have a Direct message option, however you can kick-off their direct messaging option simply just by messaging them first.

On mobile:

1. Tap on the messaging center icon
2. Search for or select someone from your list
3. Message away!

On web:

1. Click the messaging icon in the upper right corner
2. Select or search for the team, program, or athlete
3. Send your message

Team Messaging

Anyone who belongs to a team can access that team’s messaging channel. To access a team’s channel

On mobile:

1. Tap on the messaging center icon
2. Search for the team OR select the “Teams & Programs” tab
3. Select your team

Program Messaging

This feature lets you keep in contact with athletes who have purchased a Program through the Marketplace.

Note: Use Direct Message to contact athletes who've received a Program on their 1:1 calendar.

On web: 

1. Click the messaging icon in the upper right
2. Search or select your channel 
3. Send your message

Features

We’ve added some fun new features that will help you coach and engage your athletes. These are available in direct messages, team messaging, and session comments.

• GIFs - You know what the kids say: “If it ain’t Giphy it ain’t spiffy.”  For real, though. GIFs and emojis have become a big part of digital communication. They’re a lightweight, fun way to converse. 

• Reactions - tap/click and hold a comment or image to react with an emoji

• Photo and Video Upload - You and your athletes can now upload videos directly to TrainHeroic. You can either upload from your photo library, or capture a new photo or video.
  • Videos are limited to 1 min in length, and will be available for 30 days from when they are uploaded.

Message Notifications:

As a coach, you'll receive notifications for direct and team messages sent through TH Chat directly to your Messaging Center.

Note: Notifications for any direct messages or team messaging will go to the Messaging Center, while any notifications related to training session activity will be available in the Notification Center (denoted by the bell icon).
