When does this change take place?
TrainHeroic will begin collecting sales tax where required from U.S. customers on July 1, 2025.
What does this mean for athletes and coaches?
Starting July 1, 2025, our coaches who use our product in states where we are required to charge sales tax and who pay us monthly/annually for their subscription will be subject to sales tax for their subscriptions going forward.
Also starting July 1, 2025, our athletes and coaches who purchase programming through TrainHeroic’s marketplace will be subject to sales tax for their subscriptions and programs if they use our product in a state where we are required to charge sales tax. This includes all existing subscriptions (Teams + Bundles) as well as all future purchases (Teams + Bundles + Programs).
What billing zip code are you using for my purchase?
The tax charged is based on the billing zip code entered at checkout. If you’d like to edit your payment, you can add a different credit card in your billing settings. To get the most accurate sales tax rate, we encourage you to input your zip code +4.
Why weren’t you collecting U.S. sales tax before?
Sales tax laws are complex and often change. Application of sales tax laws in the technology industry is evolving as software access options and uses change. As TrainHeroic grows and states begin to impose sales tax on our products, we will be required to register in more locales within the United States.
Prior to July 1, 2025, TrainHeroic was paying sales taxes on behalf of some of our customer purchases. Going forward, sales tax will be collected per relevant sales tax law.
When will customers be notified of the change?
Athletes and coaches using our products in states where sales tax collection is required and paying us monthly/annually will be notified of the change in May.
I don’t see Sales Tax being added to my purchase, it still says $0. Why?
Sales tax is only imposed on U.S. sales, and tax rates vary by zip code and product. Some products and locales will not require that sales tax be charged at all because the product chosen is not taxable in that zip code or TrainHeroic does not have a requirement to collect in the state/locale. It is possible that, in the same zip code, sales tax will be charged for one product and not another. As sales tax laws change, it is also possible that in the future, TrainHeroic will be required to collect sales tax in a jurisdiction where it is not currently required to do so.
I’m a Marketplace coach, what should I do if my athletes have questions about this change?

I live in a state with no sales tax, why am I being charged tax?
Please double check that your billing zip code is correct, as this is how we determine what sales tax you will be charged. If you need to make changes, please visit your Payment Info to update your billing information. To get the most accurate sales tax rate, we encourage you to input your zip code +4.
My organization is tax-exempt. How can I ensure I am not charged sales tax?
Please contact our support team HERE with your tax exempt certificate for your account to be placed in tax-free status before completing your purchase online.
What is my tax rate?
